New Delhi: Unauthorised colonies, who failed to reply to Delhi government’s showcause notice for not meeting the eligibility criteria of at least 50% construction before 2008, may lose their provisional certificates.
The urban development department has sent notices to 125 colonies which were given provisional certificates ahead of the assembly elections in 2008.
However, a survey report by the MCD has revealed that these colonies do not meet the eligibility criterion of at least 50% construction before 2008 to be eligible for regularisation. A number of south, south west and north Delhi colonies were served notices.
According to sources, a re-verification of all the 125 colonies was conducted by the deputy commissioner office to ascertain the total built-up area and of these, 73 RWAs failed to reply.
Sources added that action will be taken against these colonies.
“The department has suggested that provisional certificate of these colonies be cancelled. But a final decision is yet to be taken,“ said an official. Source>>>
