Starting weekend, owners of CWG Village flats can move in

Posted on April 12, 2012 by Deepti

New Delhi: It comes a year late and following a long legal battle, but buyers of CWG Village flats will start getting the possession of their homes starting this weekend.

The DDA has issued the “conveyance deed’’ to project developer Emaar MGF, which has started issuing letters of intimation to possession to their allottees starting Sunday.

The allottees who have paid the last installment to Emaar are likely to get possession of their flats this weekend. Emaar has sold 457 flats and the fate of 28 flats is yet to be decided by the High Court.

Salabh Tandon, who works with the World Bank, will be among the first to get possession.

“I have paid my last installment and am likely to get physical possession to the flat by the weekend. It’s a sense of relief and excitement. I hope to move into my flat in another two months,’’ said Tandon.

At present, he stays with his wife and children in Vasant Kunj.

The DDA, however, is yet to start the process of removing furniture from these flats.

C W Sahni, whose son owns a flat in the complex, said many buyers want to start moving into the flats by next week. “The finish and condition of the road leading to Noida is critical for people to start moving in,’’ said Sahni.

The High Court, meanwhile, is hearing the matter concerning dispute over excess floor area ratio (FAR) for the Village flats.

In case the excess FAR was to be demolished, the court has ordered the DDA to keep Towers 26 and 28, which are lying unencumbered, for accommodating the buyers allotted flats in Towers 5 and 15.

The MCD tribunal is currently adjudicating the issue whether the permissible FAR was 2,20,000 sq metres, as pressed by developer Emaar MGF, or 2,05,000 sq metre, as contended by the DDA.

“The court has to give us the go-ahead to auction our 110 flats to ascertain the market price for these flats,’’ said a DDA official.  Source>>>
