MCD told to hand over urban roads by February-end

New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has started the process of handing over roads, with a width of over 60 feet, to the Public Works Department (PWD.)

Delhi chief secretary PK Tripathi said the government had asked the MCD to hand over all such roads to the PWD within a month.

“The process of taking over these roads has started. We had recently written a letter to the MCD commissioner to hand over all such roads to us by February end,“ Tripathi said.

On Day 1,8 banks sealed as part of Noida drive

Noida: Two days after it had issued a final notice asking commercial units to stop operating from residential plots in the city,the Noida Authority cracked the whip on Wednesday and sealed 11 properties in sector 19, including eight branches of public and private banks.

BPTP launches Rs 500 cr housing project

New Delhi: Realty company BPTP today said it has launched a Rs 500-crore housing project in Gurgaon.
Under the project, the company will offer 100 units with each unit costing Rs 5 crore, the company said in a statement.

Work on phase 3 begins

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro on Tuesday started boring tunnels for the construction of the Central Secretariat-Mandi House underground corridor.

With this, the civil construction for Delhi Metro’s phase 3 expansion has begun in full swing.

The Kashmere Gate-Central Secretariat corridor, which will have eight stations, will be ready for operation by the end of 2014.

‘Luxury home prices plunge in Mumbai’

Mumbai: The high-end residential market in the country’s financial capital has witnessed the steepest fall in prices in a survey of global cities over the last one year even though average property prices in the city continue to be considered unreasonably high.
